Happy 1st Birthday Liam!

Happy Birthday Liam!
While Liam's birthday was on the 30th, we celebrated on the 31st. We had the usual party...hamburgers and brats, drinks, birthday cake, the works. We celebrated in usual style and everyone got to see the birthday boy and think back on how much he has grown. It really is amazing.
When Amy ordered the cake, it came with an additional 1st Birthday cake, which was about as big around as a compact disc, and about an inch high. Rather than regular icing, it was just colored whipped cream. It was just for Liam, so he could enjoy his first birthday in all his spledor, which he certainly did. Here is the series of events:

New Liam Pictures

We've been trigger happy with our new camera, and Amy managed to get some great photos of Liam taken. Thought I would upload them here for you to look at. Remember, if you want to see a bigger version of the picture, just click on it!

House Updates - Living Room

While its been done for some time, I thought I would let you guys see the living room mantle/hearth that we had remodeled. I took the old one, made some doors for it, brought out the mantle a bit, and added some crown moulding, as well as replaced the tile.

The living room now looks alot nicer and brighter, which you can see in the before and after pics:

We use the left side cabinet as Liam's toy storage (as I'm sure you can tell), and the right side is where the cable box and the XBOX 360 will go, which will have cooling via a fan that pulls air down into the basement. Plus all the cords should be gone soon as well.

House Update - Bushes Replaced!

The day before Liam's Birthday party (which would actually be his birthday), I got outside and managed to get the additional bushes replaced before the mass of people arrived for the party. I actually had to finish up in the dark, with a halogen spotlight that I had, clipped to a shovel stuck in the ground. But we got it done. We still have to replace the bricks out front, which we will do later, as well as add some landcaping to the side of the house.

Overall, Amy and I are very pleased with how the house has come out. Here is the picture of what looked like when we bought it:

Drab.

To how it looks now:

Nice.
